With the trend going on in India about banning the Chinese products I
thought of compiling the non-Chinese brands which compete directly with the
likes of Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo.
In this post, I will be focusing on Android and mostly on Samsung as being
a reputable brand and its devices are also available in all price range
starting from budget smartphones (₹8,999) to midrange to flagships.
First I would like to point out that the largest Samsung Plant in the world
is in India in Noida where it produces all the smartphone and exports them
to other countries as well. Samsung India also launched its ‘Make for
the World’ initiative, whereby it aims to export mobile handsets produced in
India, to overseas markets.
Samsung Galaxy M01:
Starting at ₹8,999/- with Snapdragon 439 3GB ram and 32GB memory
it is a perfect entry-level smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy M11:
At ₹10,999/- it comes with an extra ultrawide camera. With the
punch hole camera and fingerprint module, the design is very modern and
5000mAh battery packs a punch for more than a day of use.
All these phones are media-centric phones powered by Exynos 9611. The difference in these is the camera configuration with M31 being the latest the main camera is 64MP with ultrawide and also a macro shooter. The front camera is 32 MP. These phones make much more sense as no other manufacturer offers AMOLED displays as Samsung is itself the manufacturer and so they can offer them at a price this competitive.
With a modern design, the M40 has a Snapdragon 675 coupled with 6GB RAM. It is equipped with a 32MP main camera and 16MP front shooter. But it does not have an AMOLED display.
